About Molly

Stylist and educator Molly Mikesell established Hairamedics Salon in 2002. As a master stylist with over twenty years of experience, Molly offers a wide range of services. She holds four certifications as a color and chemical theory educator, and travels nationally to teach styling and color techniques to other professionals.

Molly has been a lead stylist for the Charger Girls and City Ballet, and has worked for Project Runway, International Playmate, 944 Magazine, and Anna Deaveare Smith. She was named one of the Top 3 Stylists in 7 States by Wella International. In addition to running her salon and teaching, Molly volunteers as a stylist for Rachel’s Women’s Center in San Diego.

This year, Molly launched her new salon, a 1900-square-foot studio in La Jolla.

    This certification includes an innovative approach to foil and color placement through classic balayage hair painting techniques. Certification covers the ins and outs of creative techniques, hair painting and color foil placements as well as the use of the blacklight lightening system to achieve unique options for customizing blonding services.

  • 2021–2022

    A certification for beauty industry professionals, the BARBICIDE® Certification offers instruction in infection control consistent with the current highest industry standards.

  • 2021–2022

    This certification was built off the core foundation of a grassroots curriculum created by Candy Shaw, aka the Balay Lama®. It highlights key fundamentals of the perfect balayage: Consistency, Brush Stroke, and Saturation.

  • K18 is a process of renewing inner layers of hair via the polypeptide chains (keratin chains), to rejuvenate hair and add strength and elasticity.

  • Japanese hair straightening turns wavy, coarse, or curly hair into pin-straight locks by treating the hair with protein.
